Really Nice

Amazing! Was able to learn BunnyHop, and tailwhip with it really fast! It is really quiet, and does not rattle like any other cheap scooters. Very high quality and overall very good feel. It glides really well, and has nice abec 7s, which even most cruisers dont have! 10/10 wouls definetely reccomend to anyone who is just starting out. Though if your looking for a more budget opetion go for the MF one. This scooter is Not for riding, its for tricks. It handles tricks really well!

Does not fit together

Mount does not tighten the handle bars to the base. Very disappointed child on Christmas morning cannot exchange until later in the week so a main Christmas present that cannot even be enjoyed.

To find a solution to the problem (repair, exchange or refund) I encourage you to visit your closest Decathlon store as you have 2 years warranty with this item in case of a manufacturing defect. I hope the problem is now solved and your child is happy with the product. Once again apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Disappointed child

I purchased this scooter as a birthday present for my 7 year old boy however when building up the night before I found that the bracket did not tighten to allow the handle bar to fix to the base. This is obviously fundamental to the functioning of the scooter so I had to handover the scooter but say that it didn’t work so had to be changed so the disappointment on my child was obvious. I took it back the following day and was even disappointed with this experience on advising of the issue I was advised that this can happen but I can order a replacement as their were none in stock if I wanted. I obviously had lost confidence and did not want the same to happen to my son a second time or wait on a replacement so asked just to get a refund. So rather than deal with me I was advised to go to the end of the queue and wait to get served again. Overall an extremely poor service provided on all accounts and would not recommend this product to avoid disappointment.

Brake difficult to use

Hi, Same comment as a previous person. The brake is not very efficient. This make it dangerous to use except at a low speed. As my 7 years old son complained about it I tried it. I had also great difficulties to stop quickly. I could even not stop when the slope was going down. Thanks,

I’m sorry to hear you have experienced problems with MF 1.8+ scooter. Flex brakes used in stunt scooters are made of one piece of metal, that’s why it’s tougher to apply pressure and it may need time to ‘break in’. If you're still not satisfied with your purchase, please return it to us either for refund or exchange.

What is the difference between a freestyle scooter and a "normal" scooter?

The differences between a freestyle scooter and a classic scooter are similar to those between a BMX bike and a city bike.A freestyle scooter has wider handlebars and smaller wheels (making it easier to handle). Its weight is also different (it is lighter) and it is more manoeuvrable. Since the aim is to do tricks, the handlebars can do a full turn, for example.Freestyle scooters are also more rigid and sturdy.

Choosing the right size freestyle scooter

To choose the right size freestyle scooter, stand on it and check that the handlebar comes up to hip level, your arms are stretched out and your back straight.

What safety precautions should you take when doing freestyle?

You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering.Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: spend time learning the basics so that you can control your speed and brake in emergency situations in all weather conditions (particularly on wet terrain).

What is the deck made of?

Deck made from 6061 T6 anodised aluminium.Its triple-channel structure with 4 rails provides better stability and a better slide on grinds.The deck is designed to be easy to grab when doing tricks.Dimensions: 110 x 500 mm.

What are this scooter's handlebars made from?

One-piece construction Y-bar (handlebar) made from 6061 T6 aluminium with reinforced plate. The advantage of aluminium is that it's lighter than steel.Dimensions = Ø 35.6 mm, H: 590 mm, L: 500 mm.Overall height: 830 mm

What size are the wheels?

100mm diameter Oxelo wheels with alu core and 88A high bounce PU. The wheels are mounted on 608Z ABEC-7 NMB bearings for a long lifespan.

Why are there different wheel sizes?

100, 110 or 120 mm? The bigger the wheel's diameter, the more stability the rider will have, which helps them go faster...The downside is the weight. A bigger wheel will be heavier and harder to manoeuvre when doing tricks. The wheel size should therefore be chosen based on your aims.

What type of fork does this scooter have?

Reinforced T6 aluminium fork. Fork compatible with 100 or 110 mm diameter wheels (integrated spacer system.The spacer sits between the two bearings to relieve pressure on these bearings).

What type of collar clamp is used?

4-screw collar clamp made from 6061 T6 aluminium.

What is a flex brake system?

A "flex brake" is designed to return to its original shape after each squeeze. The main difference compared to a spring brake is that it limits vibrations. This system also stops the rubber on the wheels from wearing out so quickly.

What kind of handle does the mf1.8 + scooter come with?

The ribbed TPR handles give you good grip.

What rules should you follow to look after your scooter?

We recommend checking your scooter before and after each ride to ensure that there is no abnormal play and no cracks or sharp edges. The wheels and bearings are wearing parts. Remember to check them and change them if necessary.You can repair and extend the lifespan of your scooter with spare parts that can be ordered through your local Decathlon store's Workshop.
