Is it normal that I have to push the break very hard before it fully stops? Greetings
Beautiful scooter, very well made.
My son has had this scooter for 4 months, and has enjoyed riding it, but there is a serious design issue with it. The brake has sheared off after only 4 months and to make matters worse the replacement part is now completely out of stock everywhere, leaving us with an unusable scooter. If you read other reviews of the scooter and of the replacement brake, you will see people complaining about the same thing and Decathlon replying to acknowledge that there is an issue with it. To be fair to Decathlon they have been good at initially attempting to get a replacement brake, but now agreeing to take the scooter back for a full refund.
Thank you for taking the time to review our scooter. It will help our product managers for further reviews on the product development.
I'm happy to see you have received a satisfactory solution. I hope to see you again trusting us for your sporting goods needs.

The differences between a freestyle scooter and a classic scooter are similar to those between a BMX bike and a city bike. A freestyle scooter has wider handlebars and smaller wheels (making it easier to handle). Its weight is also different (it is lighter) and it is more manoeuvrable. Since the aim is to do tricks, the handlebars can do a full turn, for example. Freestyle scooters are also more rigid and sturdy.
To choose the right size freestyle scooter, stand on it and check that the handlebar comes up to hip level, your arms are stretched out and your back straight.
Reinforced T6 aluminium fork. Fork compatible with 125 mm diameter wheels max (integrated spacer system. The spacer sits between the two bearings to relieve pressure on these bearings).
A "flex brake" is designed to return to its original shape after each squeeze. The main difference compared to a spring brake is that it limits vibrations. This system also stops the rubber on the wheels from wearing out so quickly.
Two aluminium pegs of two different lengths, one for the front (the longer one) and the other for the back (the shorter one). The 36 mm diameter keeps things more stable on grinds and makes it easier to learn tricks.
The ribbed TPR handles give you good grip.
2-screw MF3.6 collar clamp made from 6061 T6 aluminium. Shim to make it compatible with handlebars measuring 31.8 mm to 34.9 mm in diameter.
Oxelo 120 mm diameter, alloy core (wheel with spokes), high rebound PU 88A wheels. The wheels are mounted on 608Z ABEC-7 NMB bearings for a long lifespan. This wheel size is more stable and faster for freestyle scootering.
100, 110 or 120 mm? The bigger the wheel's diameter, the more stability the rider will have, which helps them go faster...The downside is the weight. A bigger wheel will be heavier and harder to manoeuvre when doing tricks. The wheel size should therefore be chosen based on your aims.
The flat deck is made from anodised 6061 T6 aluminium. Triple-channel structure with 4 rails for better stability and a better slide on grinds. The deck is designed to be easy to grab when doing tricks. Dimensions: 115 x 530 mm.Deck angle: 82.5°.
One piece T-bar (handlebar) made out of chromoly steel CrMo 4310 NOAP. This handlebar is heavier yet sturdier than aluminium for safety. Dimensions: Ø: 31.8 mm, H: 650 mm, L: 560 mm.Overall height: 915 mm
The MF3.6 1 1/8" integrated headset has a new HIC compression system that prevents it from becoming too loose. The advantage is that the self-locking screws stop the scooter's parts working loose. This system should be tightened as soon as you notice any play in the headset. Simply take the bar off by unscrewing the collar clamp, then tighten the self-locking screw.Plus it's really easy to adjust!
You should always wear protective equipment (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) when scootering. Most serious accidents take place during the first few months of use: spend time learning the basics so that you can control your speed and brake in emergency situations in all weather conditions (particularly on wet terrain).
