These poles performed so well that I returned another brand poles that were way, WAY, more expensive. Unless you are fanatical about shaving every gram/oz from your kit, these poles are more than enough to get you where you want to go. I’m 6’2” and they had plenty of height.
Fast locking with the adjustment screw works very well. Adjustment is quick but the locking is strong. The shape and material of the handle, with the adjustable strip, provide good grip for whatever way.

Decathlon Hong Kong Hiking & Trekking Team
I have use this product for my Har Ki Dun Trek and it is just awesome.
Bought these for my wife being as my set had served me so well. Had original set for 12 months taken then on the Larapinta Trail (NT), South Coast Trail (TAS), Cradle Mountain Hikes and about every other major trail in Tasmania. Super light easy to adjust even with gloves on and pack down to compact size when not in use. Highly recommended especially for the price. Could find fault in them.
bought to replace an old one. Glad I did. I got the rubber bungs too for the tip. I like that parts are interchangeable.
Decathlon has a great reputation for providing quality products at a great price. Unfortunately on this occasion this hasn't been the case. On my first trip out with these poles the top lock would slip when any pressure would be put on them. Second trip i gave these to my 12 year old son and the bottom lock kept slipping.
Value for money product.
Comfortable to hold
Not the lightest or the cheapest, but sturdy. I accidentally bent the pole near the end, but managed to straighten it back out; that was 12 months ago and I’ve use the same pole at least twice a week. I have bought another one for spare since.
Must have when go for holidaying in mountains
if it only folded to be a few centimetres shorter to fit in my carry on only pack it would be perfect
The pole has survived 3 weeks hiking in the Picos de Europa so i recommended this product. One neat design feature is the auto locking bottom section and the quick extension and closure of the pole.
Great experience with this product
Length is excellent when folded as it fits in suitcase. Easy to extend for use and fold

Decathlon Joo Koon
I bought this trek pole for my Kedarkantha Trek. And, it failed miserably. I am of 68 Kg, 5'7". And, during my first day climb I lost my balance.. And, this pole came to my rescue... But, while rescuing me, he lost his shape.... Not of adequate strength.
Thank you for taking out time to give your valuable feedback on Hike 500 Pole. We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the product.
Generally hiking poles are to help your motion while hiking and trekking by distributing the load and also by reducing and shock/stress in knees. However a hiking pole also should be strong enough to take an unexpected fall. As you mentioned in your case the strength was the major issue.
I suggest you to kindly visit your nearest decathlon store with the pole and have our team examine it physically and we will be more than happy to give the best solution after examining the pole. It would be great if you can notify me which store do you plan to visit and when so that i can have the team well aware of the situation to save your time.
I hope the information was helpful. Please feel free to write back to me if you have any queries.

This model is entirely designed and approved by our team, at the foot of Mont Blanc. The starting point of our design is the external locking mechanism for precise and fast adjustment. Combined with a push-pin that unfolds and folds automatically. Then we designed a handle that allows multiple grips: along the tube for climbs and banking terrain, with the wrist-strap for efficient pushing and on the knob for descents. Then we use our best 7075-T6 aluminium for controlled weight
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust the length: open the outer lever, slide the tube to the desired length and close the lever. Pull the lower part until the automatic push-pin locks.Never go over the STOP line to avoid breaking the pole.
These hiking poles are designed to help you balance, propel yourself and spread the effort between the arms and legs.To increase safety, check your pole's locking mechanism by pressing down hard on it before you start and at regular intervals. If you notice that your pole tends to slide down, the locking mechanism turn ring needs adjusting. Open the lever and tighten the turn ring by a quarter or half turn.Do not attach to your backpack in stormy weather
Maintaining your poles properly enables you to maintain optimal function and increase their lifespan. After use, if water has got into the pole, take the parts apart and allow to dry. Clean any dust and mud with water or without, with a soft brush or paintbrush.Once dry, you can reassemble the parts. We recommend that you do not try to oil or grease them.
At Decathlon, we decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. On the one hand, for usage reasons. Some people only want to use one pole. This therefore meets their needs. On the other hand, if one of your poles breaks, this means you only have to buy one and not a complete pair.
