FRD 520 Freediving mask small volume storm grey
Our design teams have created this mask for confirmed freedivers. It allows you to observe sub-aquatic life while breathing up to a depth of 30m.

The very soft silicone skirt is very comfortable and the small volume makes for easy equalisation when diving. Excellent hold, thanks to the wide strap and precise adjustment.

Field of vision

Two-window mask to focus the view and avoid reflections.

Compact design

Low volume for better equalisation when diving.

User comfort

Very soft silicone, with a large contact zone. Micrometric buckle.

Good fit, airtightness and small volume. Equalisation is easy and straps are easily adjusted to head size

Hello Emmanuel,

Thank you so much for your review.

We are really happy to read that you like your SUBEA 520 Freediving Mask and that it fits you nicely.

Yes indeed, its small volume and adjustable strap make it suitable and comfortable for most of the people.

I am sure it will be a great partner for your next freediving sessions and hope to see you again in our stores.

Have a nice day.

One size fits all

It might be because I have a smaller framed face, that the mask does not fit well under my nose. Water tend to drown me after 30mins of just snorkeling. Other than that, product is handy.

For Easier Equalization

Made equalization easier. Skirt latched on too tight once at really deep areas, however. Easy to adjust.

Smooth nozzle and water resists under water .

A very good mask

Going freediving very often, I am very happy about this mask. Small volume for easiest equalisation, comfortable and simple! A good mask for a good price.

Great Design and field of view

I've used this mask for my freediving trip. The mask has lens that is a tempered glass with its strap that can be easily adjusted. Field of view is great. You need to defog the mask before using it. Skirts are stiff and a little thick. Equalization is a little hard as its material is not as soft as any other Decathlon masks . Improvements to be made: It is better to change the silicon skirt like the sililcon of DIVING MASK SCD 500 DOUBLE LENS BLACK SKIRT AND BLUE STRAPPING. It is softer and more comfortable. The mask is not Asian fit (nose part). A little struggle during equalization. Its hard to reach my nose. It would be better to have an option for asian noses.

Micrometric adjustment buckle

Micrometric buckles together with the notched strap on either side of the mask allow easy and highly accurate adjustment of the mask, even when wearing gloves.

Internal volume

The volume of air inside the mask, between the face and the lens, represents the internal volume. For free-divers and spear fishermen, the internal volume of the mask must be as small as possible to facilitate equalisation.

The mask is pressed against the face when diving. As you dive underwater, pressure is applied to the mask's soft skirt, reducing the internal volume and pressing the mask against the face. To avoid this painful phenomenon on your eyes, it is important to equalise the internal pressure of the mask and the external pressure from the water. Simply breathe out gently through your nose. Air is precious in these sports, so the equalisation action should be minimal.

Silicone is an extremely flexible material. A silicone skirt conforms gently to the contours of the face, creating a watertight seal. The material is hypoallergenic.
